Seeing the world,
in it's true light
for the first time
in its eternal night
A deep-rooted sense of hopelessness
engulfs as a whole
and steadfast stands this fear
rooted deep in our soul
Yet there's hope in those eyes
in those infant faces
how those lips still smile
while faced with what we see
as eternal rue
But it is we who need to learn
from the happy young children
that what good is life without smiles
love and fun wild.
The children among us have always known
how life should be lived
so they sow, in the fertile plains
of their youth, the seeds of happiness
We were once those kids
we too, once knew
But somewhere along the way
we changed our view
